How many watts is a silvertone 1484

The twin twelve was truly a breakthrough as far as marketing a cost effective amp that was of professional grade for the masses. I can recall many a story from old timers who got one of these at an early age when they first started their garage bands. They could plug two instruments in at once, a guitar and a mic into the other channel so they could use it as a small portable PA system.

Among all its awesome usable tones my personal favorite is all knobs up through a modern cab. This tone will cut through the densest of guitar mixes with tons of character. Page of 1. Filtered by:. The amp is rated at 4 ohms , but the guy I bought it from said I can easily run this half or twice the rated independence. So can i run this through a 8 ohm speaker cabinet??? Tags: , jensen c12q , ohm , silvertone , speaker , twin twelve.

Well, two things, I don't think a can really make 40 watts and the 8 ohm speaker will actually double the impedance not halve it so keep that in mind. But the OT is small in these amps and you'll have to be careful if you decide to run the 8 ohm speaker load.

The Silvertone is a tone monster. This is mableaudio company ltd. We stock all kinds of amp parts you want. Such as drill bit, tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, resistors, tag board, meter, pot, knob, feet, transformer, chassis to get you started. We can provide best parts with very competitive price. Each channel has two inputs. Plug your instrument into the first jack of channel one and a guitar cord into the second jack of channel one and plug the other end into the left jack of channel two.

The shorter the cord the better and make sure it is shielded. Plug the guitar into the female jack and plug the male plugs into the amp, one on each channel. One way is series and the other is parallel. I may get it out and clean it up as soon as I have a few days to spare. Usually what I would do is plug my guitar into channel two and use the volume and tone of channel one to overdrive the input.

Also, some of these amps were made with a 1 ohm resistor soldered to one of the pins on each of the 6L6 tube sockets with the other end going to chassis ground. You can wire this pin straight to chassis thus bypassing the 1 ohm resistor if so equipped. I mean like last week. In fact I only just took up the guitar less then a year ago and have been practicing through a Roland Micro Cube.

I may be interested in selling them. I am the proud owner of a Silvertone Amp! I have a problem though. Long story short, the speaker cabinet ended up falling apart. The head has been rehoused in a solid pine cab, the original cab is really awful. The original reverb has been removed and a short reverb tank installed in its place.

Also, the tremolo, which is fantastic on these amps, has been modded to be able to have a wider speed range.
