You referred me to the update about paddling pools which states nothing about using bath water, so can I use bath water to fill it up or is this not allowed. First of all you can use bath water to fill it up. Secondly, all water companies are now allowing the filling of pools with buckets filled from the tap. You can clean dogs with a hosepipe but would need to ask your local water company about using a paddling pool to bath them as filling a paddling pool is generally not allowed.

Ive filled up my water butt and my recycling bin with water from my hose and now am using this to water my lovely garden with a watering can as i live in a first floor maisonette and to run up and down stairs with a can would finish me off and am not prepared to let my plants die as they have cost me a fortune in money and blood sweat and tears over the last three years i dont see a problem doing it this way…any thoughts on this??? Is you can White? My dad lives with us and has a Blud Badge under the disability scheme — are we therefore allowed to use the hosepipe duing the ban if needed? I know it may sound obvious, but I wondered what happened to the water when you had a bath in it which meant that it was no longer subject to the restrictions on using a hose. DEFRA confirmed that you could pump water out of a bath through a hose and use it on the garden.
They said that this was because the water was no longer as supplied by the water undertaker. It seems to me that anyone who has a water softener can use a hose to water his garden with softened water because it is no longer the water supplied by the undertaker but is a different substance.

There is no information anywhere, just the south. Can i use the pressure washer to clean my patio where my dogs go to the toilet. Also the surface area is slippery and unsafe so will need to be cleaned properly. This is a 10 min job tops with a pressure washer. Difficult piece of legislation to interpret. The section you mention is purely part of the definition of a garden and a pot is not something defined as a garden. However, section 6 1 a includes pots in its definition of plants that cannot be watered. It is of course up to your local water company if they do or do not include every item in the list of possible banned uses. Hi…I have collected water throughout the winter in large plastic bins and have a tap at the bottom; this was cheaper than buying a water butt. I can connect a hose to the bin tap and my jet wash has enough power to draw the water through to be effective; I have just cleaned my car that way and it works fine.

The ban, the result of one one of the driest winters on record, has been imposed by Southern Water and comes into force on Friday in parts of Sussex.
It has been brought in after the Weir Wood reservoir, East Sussex, was found to contain half its normal level - at this time of year, it should be almost full. It is the first time in nine years that Southern Water has restricted water use. The restriction in the north Sussex supply area follows an exceptionally dry winter. From November to March, the south received little more than half the normal amount of winter rainfall needed to fill reservoirs, rivers and underground sources ready for summer.
Southern Water's acting operations director, Steve Salter, said: "It has been the second driest winter since and the lack of rainfall has meant that we have less water available for use throughout the summer. Weir Wood reservoir relies entirely on rainfall and, unlike other Southern Water reservoirs, cannot be filled by pumping water from rivers.
